DIALOG RASULULLAH DENGAN IBLIS

 

Diriwayatkan oleh Muadz bin Jabal, dari Ibnu Abbas bahwa Rasulullah Muhammad saw pernah berdialog dengan iblis. Rasulullah mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan terkait dengan kehidupan kita sehari-hari.
Berikut petikannya:
Ketika kami sedang bersama Rasulullah SAW di kediaman seorang sahabat Anshar, tiba-tiba terdengar panggilan seseorang dari luar rumah: “Wahai penghuni rumah, bolehkah aku masuk? Sebab kalian akan membutuhkanku.”
Rasulullah bersabda: “Tahukah kalian siapa yang memanggil?”
Kami menjawab: “Allah dan RasulNya yang lebih tahu.”
Beliau melanjutkan, “Itu Iblis, laknat Allah bersamanya.”
Umar bin Khattab berkata: “Izinkan aku membunuhnya wahai Rasulullah”.
Nabi menahannya: “Sabar wahai Umar, bukankah kamu tahu bahwa Allah memberinya kesempatan hingga hari kiamat? Lebih baik bukakan pintu untuknya, sebab dia telah diperintahkan oleh Allah untuk ini, pahamilah apa yang hendak ia katakan dan dengarkan dengan baik.”
Ibnu Abbas RA berkata: pintu lalu dibuka, ternyata dia seperti seorang kakek yang cacat satu matanya. Di janggutnya terdapat 7 helai rambut seperti rambut kuda, taringnya terlihat seperti taring babi, bibirnya seperti bibir sapi.
Iblis berkata: “Salam untukmu Muhammad. Salam untukmu para hadirin…”
Rasulullah SAW lalu menjawab: “Salam hanya milik Allah SWT, sebagai mahluk terlaknat, apa keperluanmu?”
Iblis menjawab: “Wahai Muhammad, aku datang ke sini bukan atas kemauanku, namun karena terpaksa.”
“Siapa yang memaksamu?”
Seorang malaikat dari utusan Allah telah mendatangiku dan berkata:
“Allah SWT memerintahkanmu untuk mendatangi Muhammad sambil menundukkan diri, beritahu Muhammad tentang caramu dalam menggoda manusia. Jawablah dengan jujur semua pertanyaannya. Demi kebesaran Allah, andai kau berdusta satu kali saja, maka Allah akan jadikan dirimu debu yang ditiup angin.”
 
“Oleh karena itu aku sekarang mendatangimu. Tanyalah apa yang hendak kau tanyakan. Jika aku berdusta, aku akan dicaci oleh setiap musuhku. Tidak ada sesuatu pun yang paling besar menimpaku daripada cacian musuh.”
 
>>Orang Yang Dibenci Iblis
Rasulullah SAW lalu bertanya kepada Iblis: “Kalau kau benar jujur, siapakah manusia yang paling kau benci?”
Iblis segera menjawab: “Kamu, kamu dan orang sepertimu adalah mahkluk Allah yang paling aku benci.”
“Siapa selanjutnya?”
“Pemuda yang bertaqwa yang memberikan dirinya mengabdi kepada Allah SWT.”
“Lalu siapa lagi?”
“Orang Aliim dan wara’ (Loyal)”
“Lalu siapa lagi?”
“Orang yang selalu bersuci.”
“Siapa lagi?”
“Seorang fakir yang sabar dan tak pernah mengeluhkan kesulitannnya kepda orang lain.”
“Apa tanda kesabarannya?”
“Wahai Muhammad, jika ia tidak mengeluhkan kesulitannya kepada orang lain selama 3 hari, Allah akan memberi pahala orang -orang yang sabar.”
” Selanjutnya apa?”
“Orang kaya yang bersyukur.”
“Apa tanda kesyukurannya?”
“Ia mengambil kekayaannya dari tempatnya, dan mengeluarkannya juga dari tempatnya.”
“Orang seperti apa Abu Bakar menurutmu?”
“Ia tidak pernah menurutiku di masa jahiliyah, apalagi dalam Islam.”
“Umar bin Khattab?”
“Demi Allah setiap berjumpa dengannya aku pasti kabur.”
“Usman bin Affan?”
“Aku malu kepada orang yang malaikat pun malu kepadanya.”
“Ali bin Abi Thalib?”
“Aku berharap darinya agar kepalaku selamat, dan berharap ia melepaskanku dan aku melepaskannya. tetapi ia tak akan mau melakukan itu.” (Ali bin Abi Thalib selalu berdzikir terhadap Allah SWT)
 
>>Amalan Yang Dapat Menyakiti Iblis
“Apa yang kau rasakan jika melihat seseorang dari umatku yang hendak shalat?”
“Aku merasa panas dingin dan gemetar.”
“Kenapa?”
“Sebab, setiap seorang hamba bersujud 1x kepada Allah, Allah mengangkatnya 1 derajat.”
“Jika seorang umatku berpuasa?”
“Tubuhku terasa terikat hingga ia berbuka.”
“Jika ia berhaji?”
“Aku seperti orang gila.”
“Jika ia membaca Al-Quran?”
“Aku merasa meleleh laksana timah diatas api.”
“Jika ia bersedekah?”
“Itu sama saja orang tersebut membelah tubuhku dengan gergaji.”
“Mengapa bisa begitu?”
“Sebab dalam sedekah ada 4 keuntungan baginya. Yaitu keberkahan dalam hartanya, hidupnya disukai, sedekah itu kelak akan menjadi hijab antara dirinya dengan api neraka dan segala macam musibah akan terhalau dari dirinya.”
“Apa yang dapat mematahkan pinggangmu?”
“Suara kuda perang di jalan Allah.”
“Apa yang dapat melelehkan tubuhmu?”
“Taubat orang yang bertaubat.”
“Apa yang dapat membakar hatimu?”
“Istighfar di waktu siang dan malam.”
“Apa yang dapat mencoreng wajahmu?”
“Sedekah yang diam – diam.”
“Apa yang dapat menusuk matamu?”
“Shalat fajar.”
“Apa yang dapat memukul kepalamu?”
“Shalat berjamaah.”
“Apa yang paling mengganggumu?”
“Majelis para ulama.”
“Bagaimana cara makanmu?”
“Dengan tangan kiri dan jariku.”
“Dimanakah kau menaungi anak – anakmu di musim panas?”
“Di bawah kuku manusia.”
 
>>Manusia Yang Menjadi Teman Iblis
Nabi lalu bertanya : “Siapa temanmu wahai Iblis?”
“Pemakan riba.”
“Siapa sahabatmu?”
“Pezina.”
“Siapa teman tidurmu?”
“Pemabuk.”
“Siapa tamumu?”
“Pencuri.”
“Siapa utusanmu?”
“Tukang sihir.”
“Apa yang membuatmu gembira?”
“Bersumpah dengan cerai.”
“Siapa kekasihmu?”
“Orang yang meninggalkan shalat Jum’at”
“Siapa manusia yang paling membahagiakanmu?”
“Orang yang meninggalkan shalatnya dengan sengaja.”
 
>>Iblis Tidak Berdaya Di hadapan Orang Yang Ikhlas
Rasulullah SAW lalu bersabda : “Segala puji bagi Allah yang telah membahagiakan umatku dan menyengsarakanmu.”
Iblis segera menimpali:
“Tidak,tidak. . tak akan ada kebahagiaan selama aku hidup hingga hari akhir. Bagaimana kau bisa berbahagia dengan umatmu, sementara aku bisa masuk ke dalam aliran darah mereka dan mereka tak bisa melihatku. Demi yang menciptakan diriku dan memberikanku kesempatan hingga hari akhir, aku akan menyesatkan mereka semua. Baik yang bodoh, atau yang pintar, yang bisa membaca dan tidak bisa membaca, yang durjana dan yang shaleh, kecuali hamba Allah yang ikhlas.”
“Siapa orang yang ikhlas menurutmu?”
“Tidakkah kau tahu wahai Muhammad, bahwa barang siapa yang menyukai emas dan perak, ia bukan orang yang ikhlas. “
“Jika kau lihat seseorang yang tidak menyukai dinar dan dirham, tidak suka pujian dan sanjungan, aku bisa pastikan bahwa ia orang yang ikhlas, maka aku meninggalkannya. “
“Selama seorang hamba masih menyukai harta dan sanjungan dan hatinya selalu terikat dengan kesenangan dunia, ia sangat patuh padaku.”
 
 
 
 
>>Iblis Dibantu oleh 70.000 Anak-Anaknya
“Tahukah kamu Muhammad, bahwa aku mempunyai 70.000 anak. Dan setiap anak memiliki 70.000 syaithan.
Sebagian ada yang aku tugaskan untuk mengganggu ulama. Sebagian untuk mengganggu anak – anak muda, sebagian untuk mengganggu orang -orang tua, sebagian untuk mengganggu wanta – wanita tua, sebagian anak -anakku juga aku tugaskan kepada para Zahid.
Aku punya anak yang suka mengencingi telinga manusia sehingga ia tidur pada shalat berjamaah,  tanpanya manusia tidak akan mengantuk pada waktu shalat berjamaah.
Aku punya anak yang suka menaburkan sesuatu di mata orang yang sedang mendengarkan ceramah ulama hingga mereka tertidur dan pahalanya terhapus.
Aku punya anak yang senang berada di lidah manusia, jika seseorang melakukan kebajikan lalu ia beberkan kepada manusia, maka 99% pahalanya akan terhapus.
Pada setiap seorang wanita yang berjalan, anakku dan syaithan duduk di pinggul dan pahanya, lalu menghiasinya agar setiap orang memandanginya.”
Syaithan juga berkata, “keluarkan tanganmu”, lalu ia mengeluarkan tangannya lalu syaithan pun menghiasi kukunya.
“Mereka, anak – anakku selalu meyusup dan berubah dari satu kondisi ke kondisi lainnya, dari satu pintu ke pintu yang lainnya untuk menggoda manusia hingga mereka terhempas dari keikhlasan mereka.
Akhirnya mereka menyembah Allah tanpa ikhlas, namun mereka tidak merasa.
Tahukah kamu, Muhammad? bahwa ada rahib yang telah beribadat kepada Allah selama 70 tahun. Setiap orang sakit yang didoakan olehnya, sembuh seketika. Aku terus menggodanya hingga ia berzina, membunuh dan kufur.”
 
>>Cara Iblis Menggoda
“Tahukah kau Muhammad, dusta berasal dari diriku?
Akulah mahluk pertama yang berdusta.
Pendusta adalah sahabatku. barangsiapa bersumpah dengan berdusta, ia kekasihku.
Tahukah kau Muhammad?
Aku bersumpah kepada Adam dan Hawa dengan nama Allah bahwa aku benar – benar menasihatinya.
Sumpah dusta adalah kegemaranku.
 
Ghibah (gossip) dan Namimah (Adu domba) kesenanganku.
Kesaksian palsu kegembiraanku.
Orang yang bersumpah untuk menceraikan istrinya ia berada di pinggir dosa walau hanya sekali dan walaupun ia benar. Sebab barang siapa membiasakan dengan kata – kata cerai, isterinya menjadi haram baginya. Kemudian ia akan beranak cucu hingga hari kiamat. jadi semua anak – anak zina dan ia masuk neraka hanya karena satu kalimat, CERAI.
Wahai Muhammad, umatmu ada yang suka mengulur ulur shalat. Setiap ia hendak berdiri untuk shalat, aku bisikan padanya waktu masih lama, kamu masih sibuk, lalu ia menundanya hingga ia melaksanakan shalat di luar waktu, maka shalat itu dipukulkannya kemukanya.
Jika ia berhasil mengalahkanku, aku biarkan ia shalat. Namun aku bisikkan ke telinganya ‘lihat kiri dan kananmu’, iapun menoleh. pada saat itu aku usap dengan tanganku dan kucium keningnya serta aku katakan ’shalatmu tidak sah’
Bukankah kamu tahu Muhammad, orang yang banyak menoleh dalam shalatnya akan dipukul.
Jika ia shalat sendirian, aku suruh dia untuk bergegas. ia pun shalat seperti ayam yang mematuk beras.
Jika ia berhasil mengalahkanku dan ia shalat berjamaah, aku ikat lehernya dengan tali, hingga ia mengangkat kepalanya sebelum imam, atau meletakkannya sebelum imam.
Kamu tahu bahwa melakukan itu batal shalatnya dan wajahnya akan dirubah menjadi wajah keledai.
Jika ia berhasil mengalahkanku, aku tiup hidungnya hingga ia menguap dalam shalat. Jika ia tidak menutup mulutnya ketika mnguap, syaithan akan masuk ke dalam dirinya, dan membuatnya menjadi bertambah serakah dan gila dunia.
Dan ia pun semakin taat padaku.
Kebahagiaan apa untukmu, sedang aku memerintahkan orang miskin agar meninggalkan shalat. Aku katakan padanya, “kamu tidak wajib shalat, shalat hanya wajib untuk orang yang berkecukupan dan sehat, orang sakit dan miskin tidak, jika kehidupanmu telah berubah baru kau shalat.’
Ia pun mati dalam kekafiran. Jika ia mati sambil meninggalkan shalat maka Allah akan menemuinya dalam kemurkaan.
Wahai Muhammad, jika aku berdusta Allah akan menjadikanku debu.
Wahai Muhammad, apakah kau akan bergembira dengan umatmu padahal aku mengeluarkan seperenam mereka dari islam?”
>>10 Hal Permintaan Iblis kepada Allah SWT
“Berapa hal yang kau pinta dari Tuhanmu?”
“10 macam”
“Apa saja?”
“Aku minta agar Allah membiarkanku berbagi dalam harta dan anak manusia, Allah mengizinkan.”
Allah berfirman,
“Berbagilah dengan manusia dalam harta dan anak. dan janjikanlah mereka, tidaklah janji setan kecuali tipuan.” (QS Al-Isra :64)
“Harta yang tidak dizakatkan, aku makan darinya. Aku juga makan dari makanan haram dan yang bercampur dengan riba, aku juga makan dari makanan yang tidak dibacakan nama Allah.
Aku minta agar Allah membiarkanku ikut bersama dengan orang yang berhubungan dengan istrinya tanpa berlindung dengan Allah, maka setan ikut bersamanya dan anak yang dilahirkan akan sangat patuh kepada syaithan.
Aku minta agar bisa ikut bersama dengan orang yang menaiki kendaraan bukan untuk tujuan yang halal.
Aku minta agar Allah menjadikan kamar mandi sebagai rumahku.
Aku minta agar Allah menjadikan pasar sebagai masjidku.
Aku minta agar Allah menjadikan syair sebagai Quranku.
Aku minta agar Allah menjadikan pemabuk sebagai teman tidurku.
Aku minta agar Allah memberikanku saudara, maka Ia jadikan orang yang membelanjakan hartanya untuk maksiat sebagai saudaraku.”
Allah berfirman,
“Orang -orang boros adalah saudara – saudara syaithan. ” (QS Al-Isra : 27).
“Wahai Muhammad, aku minta agar Allah membuatku bisa melihat manusia sementara mereka tidak bisa melihatku.
Dan aku minta agar Allah memberiku kemampuan untuk mengalir dalam aliran darah manusia.
Allah menjawab, “silahkan”, dan aku bangga dengan hal itu hingga hari kiamat.
Sebagian besar manusia bersamaku di hari kiamat.”
Iblis berkata : “Wahai muhammad, aku tak bisa menyesatkan orang sedikitpun, aku hanya bisa membisikan dan menggoda.
Jika aku bisa menyesatkan, tak akan tersisa seorangpun…!!!
Sebagaimana dirimu, kamu tidak bisa memberi hidayah sedikitpun, engkau hanya rasul yang menyampaikan amanah.
Jika kau bisa memberi hidayah, tak akan ada seorang kafir pun di muka bumi ini. Kau hanya bisa menjadi penyebab untuk orang yang telah ditentukan sengsara.
Orang yang bahagia adalah orang yang telah ditulis bahagia sejak di perut ibunya. Dan orang yang sengsara adalah orang yang telah ditulis sengsara semenjak dalam kandungan ibunya.”
Rasulullah SAW lalu membaca ayat :
“Mereka akan terus berselisih kecuali orang yang dirahmati oleh Allah SWT” (QS Hud :118 – 119)
juga membaca,
“Sesungguhnya ketentuan Allah pasti berlaku” (QS Al-Ahzab : 38)
Iblis lalu berkata:
“Wahai Muhammad Rasulullah, takdir telah ditentukan dan pena takdir telah kering. Maha Suci Allah yang menjadikanmu pemimpin para Nabi dan Rasul, pemimpin penduduk surga, dan yang telah menjadikan aku pemimpin mahluk mahluk celaka dan pemimpin penduduk neraka, aku si celaka yang terusir, ini akhir yang ingin aku sampaikan kepadamu. dan aku tak berbohong.”

HTC Mecha / Incredible HD pictured for Verizon with a fancy '4G' symbol

 

If you weren't so keen on that LTE-enabled LG handset for Verizon that we saw recently, feat your eyes on this puppy. What we're looking at here is allegedly the HTC Mecha -- which may be known at retail as the Droid Incredible HD -- and from the looks of it, it'll be the first true EVO 4G equivalent from HTC for Big Red. And yes, when we say "EVO 4G equivalent," we mean 4G network support, too: you'll notice a little "4G" symbol up there toward the right side of the status bar, suggesting this will likely be among the company's inaugural LTE phones early next year. Android Central's source says that the phone is getting 9Mbps down and 5Mbps up in testing right now... so let's just hope those speeds hold up when the network actually launches.

Is this the Nexus S ?

Woah, what do we have here? A new "In Store" web-based flier from Best Buy Mobile has this little nugget on its front page: a previously unseen Galaxy S, running stock Android (possibly 2.3, based on the green icons and black notifications bar) and harboring what looks to be a front facing camera. Sounds like a Nexus S to us! Paired with this morning's little Nexus S slip-of-the-tongue from Best Buy, we're starting to get our hopes up. Don't let us down, Google / T-Mobile / Samsung / Best Buy / planet earth!

WordPress 3.1 Feature Status Update

Work is well underway on WordPress 3.1 and a quick update detailing the status of some of the new features as we approach the November 1st code freeze has been posted. The following features will more than likely be included in WordPress 3.1:

Post Formats – “Allow denoting a post as a certain format. Some example formats are aside, gallery, link, quote. This will allow themes to style these posts according to format.” (ready to go, awaiting decision to include a UI that themes can enable)

Theme Search/Filter – “Lift some of the search and browse ideas from the WordPress.com themes.php.” (still in first draft)

Internal linking – “. . . you click a button for an internal link . . . and it allows you to search for a post or browse a list of existing content by title, date, author, etc. and select it for inclusion.” (patch provided)

Admin Bar – “. . . an administration bar similar to the one on WordPress.com.” (first round is in)

Ajaxified Admin – “. . . makes most columns sortable, introduces a new pagination style, ajaxifies sortable columns, pagination & search . . .” (ready to go)

Update TinyMCE – Visual editor updated to TinyMCE 3.3.9.2. (ready to go)

Multi-Taxonomy Queries – Allows users to query multiple taxonomies. (first round is in)

Network Admin - Moves “the Super Admin menus and related pages out of the regular admin and into wp-admin/network/.” (fixing bugs)

Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on HP Mini 1000 (or Compaq Mini 700) Guide

Here we’ll guide you through all the necessary steps to get Mac OS X Snow Leopard installed on your HP Mini 1000 netbook, including updating it safely to 10.6.2. This guide will also work for the Compaq Mini 700 which is a clone of the HP Mini 1000.

Requirements:

• HP Mini 1000 or Compaq Mini 700 with at least 8GB of hard disk space
• Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc
• Intel-based Mac with DVD-ROM drive and USB port
• 8GB or larger external USB drive (hard disk or flash drive)
• NetbookBootMaker 0.8.3
• New GeneralExtensions bundle
• Tea’s Mach Kernel
• SleepEnabler for Kernel 10.2.0
• DSDT Patcher 1.0.1e

On your Mac with DVD-ROM drive and USB port:

1. Insert the Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc into the Mac’s DVD drive, and connect the external USB drive to the Mac too.
2. If your Mac is running Mac OS X 10.6 or later then launch the ‘Disk Utility’ application located in your ‘Utilities’ folder, and skip to step 7. Else, proceed to the next step.
3. Double-click on ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ and then double click the ‘Install Mac OS X’ icon.
   
4. Click the ‘Utilities’ button.
   
5. Click the ‘Restart’ button. The Mac will now boot from the Mac OS X Snow Leopard retail disc.
   
6. Once you’ve selected your language, click on the ‘Utilities’ menu and select ‘Disk Utilitiy…’.
7. Select the external USB drive in the left-hand column, ensure that you click on the parent icon which states the drive capacity, e.g. “931.5 GB”.
   
8. Select the ‘Partition’ tab and then under “Volume Scheme:” click on ‘Current’ and change it to ‘1 Partition’.
   
9. Change ‘Name:’ to “OSXDVD” and ensure that ‘Format:’ is set to “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”.
   
10. Click ‘Options…’, select “Master Boot Record” and then click ‘OK’.
    
11. Click ‘Apply’ and then ‘Partition’ and give the Mac a moment to format your USB drive and create the new partition.
    
12. Next we need to copy Snow Leopard to the USB drive: select the ‘Restore’ tab.
    
13. From the left-hand pane, click and drag the ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ icon to the ‘Source:’ field and release.
    
14. From the left-hand pane, click and drag the ‘OSXDVD’ icon to the ‘Destination:’ field and release.
    
15. Tick the ‘Erase destination’ box, then click the ‘Restore’ button and then click ‘Erase’. Allow between half an hour to 2 hours for the copy to complete.
    
16. Once complete, if you skipped to step 7 at step 2 in this guide, you can now skip to step 19. Else, proceed to the next step.
17. Quit ‘Disk Utiltiy’ and from the ‘Utilities’ menu, select ‘Startup Disk…’.
18. Select the Mac’s normal startup disk, click ‘Restart…’ and then click the ‘Restart’ button. The Mac will now reboot from its hard disk.
    
19. Eject the ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ disc.
20. Launch the ‘NetbookBootMaker’ application and from the select menu labelled ‘Select USB Partition:’ select the USB drive which is now titled ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ and then click ‘Prepare Boot Drive’ (you’ll be prompted for the Mac Administrator’s username and password).
    
21. Open your newly formatted USB drive which will be titled ‘Mac OS X Install DVD’ but will have the orange external hard drive icon.
    
22. In the window that appears, on your keyboard, hold down the ‘Command’ and ‘Shift’ keys and press ‘G’. This will bring up a dialog box titled ‘Go to the folder:’. In the text box that appears, type the following path: “/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/” then click the ‘Go’ button.
    
23. In the window that appears, scroll down to find the file ‘OSInstall.pkg’ and delete it. You’ll be prompted to authenticate with your system username and password.
    
24. Next, find the file titled ‘OSInstall.pkg.orig’ and copy it to your desktop. Now rename it ‘OSInstall.pkg’ – you’ll be prompted to confirm that you do want to change the filename extension from ‘.orig’ to ‘.pkg’ – click the ‘Use .pkg’ button.
    
25. Copy the new ‘OSInstall.pkg’ file from your desktop back to the ‘/Packages’ directory that you copied it from. You’ll be prompted to authenticate with your system username and password.
26. Delete ‘OSInstall.pkg.orig’. Your ‘/Packages’ directory should now look like this:
    
27. You can now eject the USB drive and disconnect it from the Mac.

On your HP Mini 1000:

1. Attach your USB drive to your HP Mini 1000.
2. Boot your HP Mini 1000, and as soon as the HP/Compaq logo comes up press and hold the ‘F9′ key for boot options.
   (Note: if you’ve gone through this guide and by the end of it your wireless is not working, come back to this step and reset the BIOS settings to default.)
   
3. Press the down arrow key to select ‘USB’ and hit ‘enter’. The HP Mini 1000 will now boot into Mac OS X Snow Leopard from the USB drive!
   
4. Once you’ve selected your language, click on the ‘Utilities’ menu and select ‘Disk Utilitiy…’.
5. Select the HP Mini 1000’s internal drive in the left-hand column, ensure that you click on the parent icon which states the drive capacity, e.g. “64.11 GB”.
   
6. Select the ‘Partition’ tab and then under “Volume Scheme:” click on ‘Current’ and change it to ‘1 Partition’.
   
7. Ensure that ‘Format:’ is set to “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”.
   
8. Click ‘Options…’, select “GUID Partition Table” and then click ‘OK’.
   
9. Click ‘Apply’ and then ‘Partition’ and give the HP Mini 1000 a moment to format your hard disk and create the new partition.
   
10. Once complete, quit ‘Disk Utiltiy’.
11. Configure your installation as you would on your normal Mac and let the installation run.
12. Once installation’s complete and the HP Mini 1000 restarts, repeat steps 2 & 3 from above and boot from the USB drive again.
13. At the point where you see the Mac OS X bootloader screen, press any key (such as the space bar) to interrupt the process.
    
14. Press the right arrow key to select the internal hard drive and then hit ‘Return’.
    
15. You’ll then be taken through the standard Apple set up process – complete this as normal.
16. Launch the ‘NetbookBootMaker’ application and from the select menu labelled ‘Select USB Partition:’ select your internal hard drive, likely called ‘Untitled’, and then click ‘Prepare Boot Drive’ (you’ll be prompted for the Mac Administrator’s username and password).
    
17. Once complete, your HP Mini 1000 is now ready to boot Mac OS X from it’s internal hard drive. You can safely eject and disconnect the USB drive.

Fix sound and trackpad, update to 10.6.2:

1. Open a new window in the ‘Finder’ and on your keyboard, hold down the ‘Command’ and ‘Shift’ keys and press ‘G’. Type the following path: “/Extra/” then click the ‘Go’ button.
   
2. You’ll now have access to the hidden ‘Extra’ folder:
   
3. Download the New GeneralExtensions bundle and copy the whole ‘GeneralExtensions’ folder into the ‘Extra’ folder to overwrite the existing one (you’ll be prompted for the Mac Administrator’s username and password).
   
4. Download Tea’s Mach Kernel and move the ‘mach_kernel_atom2′ file to the root of your internal hard disk (you’ll be prompted for the Mac Administrator’s username and password).
   
5. Repeat step 1 above to get back to the ‘Extra’ folder.
6. Copy the file titled ‘com.apple.Boot.plist’ to your desktop, then the copy (TextEdit should be the default application it’s opened in) and edit the 12th line which currently reads:
   
mach_kernel
   Change it to read:
   
mach_kernel_atom2
   And then save the file.
   
7. Copy the file from your desktop to the ‘Extra’ folder to overwrite the old ‘com.apple.Boot.plist’ file (you’ll be prompted for the Mac Administrator’s username and password).
   
8. Download SleepEnabler for Kernel 10.2.0 and copy the ‘SleepEnabler.kext’ file to the ‘GeneralExtensions’ folder in the ‘Extra’ folder.
   
9. Now launch the ‘UpdateExtra’ application which is in the ‘Extra’ folder (and has the shoe as its icon) and then click the ‘Update Extensions’ button – be patient as this can take a while and you’ll be asked to enter your username and password during the process.
   
10. You’re now ready to update to 10.6.2 via Software Update.

Fix sleep:

1. Download the DSDT Patcher 1.0.1e and from the ‘DSDT_Patcher1′ folder, open the ‘DSDT Patcher’ file which will launch the Terminal application.
   
2. Press the ‘Return’ key to continue and wait.
   
3. Enter ‘0′ and then hit the ‘Return’ key and wait.
   
4. Once complete the last command line will say “[Process completed]“, at which point you can safely quit the Terminal application.
   
5. Open a new window in the ‘Finder’ and on your keyboard, hold down the ‘Command’ and ‘Shift’ keys and press ‘G’. Type the following path: “/usr/bin/” then click the ‘Go’ button.
   
6. In a separate finder window, from the ‘DSDT_Patcher1′ folder, open the ‘Tools’ folder and move the ‘iasl’ file to the ‘bin’ folder.
   
7. Go to the ‘DSDT_Patcher1′ folder and open the ‘Debug’ folder and then open the ‘dsdt.dsl’ file – you’ll be prompted to choose an application to open this file with, so choose the ‘TextEdit’ application.
   
8. Do a ‘Find’ (‘Command’ + ‘F’ on your keyboard) for “Device (EUSB)” and locate the following code:

   And then change it so that the whole paragraph is commented out with /* and */ like this:

9. Do a ‘Find’ for “Method (_L0D, 0, NotSerialized)” and locate the following code:

   And then change it so that the line “Notify (\_SB.PCI0.EUSB, 0×02)” is commented out like this:

10. Do a ‘Find’ for “Device (PWRB)” and locate the following code:

    And then change it so that “_HID” reads “_CID” like this:

11. Save the changes and then launch the Terminal application (located in the ‘Utilities’ folder in your ‘Applications’ folder).
12. In Terminal type:
    
sudo -s
    Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
13. Enter your system password (same password you use for authenticating for your Mac) and then hit the ‘Return’ key.
14. Now type:
    
cd /Users/HOMENAME/Downloads/DSDT_Patcher1/Debug/
    Replace the text “HOMENAME” with the actual name of your Home directory (or short username) in Finder – in the example screenshot below, my Home Directory is “Ed”:
    
    Hit the ‘Return’ key.
15. Now type:
    
iasl  -ta dsdt.dsl
    Then hit the ‘Return’ key – once it reads “Compilation complete.” you can safely quit Terminal.
16. Go to the ‘Debug’ folder and copy the file ‘dsdt.aml’ to your ‘Extra’ folder (repeat step 1 from “Fix sound and trackpad, update to 10.6.2″ above to get to the ‘Extra’ folder).
    
17. Reboot your HP Mini 1000 and sleep should now work, either from the Apple menu or by closing the lid!

Fix hard disk icon:

1. Launch the ‘Terminal’ application.
2. Type:
   
sudo -s
   Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
3. Enter your system password (same password you use for authenticating for your Mac) and then hit the ‘Return’ key.
4. Type (all in one go without using the ‘Return’ key, use spaces instead of line breaks):
   
mv /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/External.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/External.icns.back
   Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
5. Type (again, all in one go without using the ‘Return’ key, use spaces instead of line breaks):
   
cp /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/Internal.icns /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/External.icns
   Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
6. Type:
   
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext
   Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
7. Type:
   
chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext
   Then hit the ‘Return’ key.
8. Restart your HP Mini 1000.
